Some Portraits Rediscovered
A set of portrait photographs from 1993 have been refound
A set of portrait photos of WBG taken by photographer Anne Purkiss have been refound. The portfolio was taken in 1993 at around the time that the Tate opened their new gallery in St Ives. This sample of three shows WBG in the Tate’s new gallery with one of her paintings on the wall behind her; a close-up shot also taken at Tate; and a more informal view of her sitting in her Barnaloft sitting room, looking over Porthemeor Beach.
The Trust would like to thank Anne Purkiss for her permission to add these photographs to the web site.
